Duct Cleaning Brushes
I would need to clean my furnace duct work. ?
I understand that there are two different methods: vacuum cleaning vs. rotary brush cleaning. Which method do you suggest and why? I heard that the vaccum cleaning could possibly be harmful to the furnace.
I do not associate with an oil company. The furnace is not noisy – just dirty.
I wouldn’t recommend either, keep your furnace filter changed and you shouldn’t ever need this kind of treatment. I always figured that it was simply a way for cleaning or HVAC companies to make an extra buck. If you still insist on it, go with that vacuum cleaning thingy, I guess. That rotary brush thing sounds like it could damage duct insulation and then you could have a problem like another poster on here where one side of the house won’t heat or cool.
Call an HVAC guy that you trust and that doesn’t do duct cleaning. See what he thinks.
